backfire & power loss
years ago. Can't figure it out. Gets worse by the day. Air pumps are sucking. I also tried to by-pass air pumps with a one inch hose between the two manifolds, no luck.
Also, power loss this week. Empty runs great till about 3200 RPM
or 65 MPH and starts to back off and sputter. Loaded, 20,000 Lbs.
and it wont run much over 40 MPH and falls back and sputters.
Fuel filter was rusty, replaced and filled tank with water remover and MMO. Replaced Ignition Module and by-passed governer, still no luck. This week I'll try plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian
[quote from bbuchanan] I'll try plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
I'll add - Module, coil, and battery. (including bad connections on the primary side of the ignition syatem)
I orderd a new body style Dodge with a 360 in 1994, ran great,
when it would run, 2 months later and a lot of factory reps figured it out. Brass bushing that the distributer shaft went threw
was oblong (egged). backfired and would not run just like out of fuel. Seems to be same problem. We let you know tomorrow.
Thanks,
Brian
