I have a 06 f350 6.0. I'm losing hear at times. My temp gauge is right in the middle like always. As soon as I let off he throttle or come to a stop the heat turns cold and blows out cold air! Anyone know any ideas?? Thank you!
1. You need to check for continuous coolant flow through the heater core. No hot coolant, no heat. That means low coolant, worn out pump, restrictions, etc can all be causes of your symptom.
2. If you confirm coolant flow, then you need to check the integrity of the temperature blend door. One of their failure modes allows them to flop around with the vehicle's acceleration/deceleration causing the outlet temperature to switch wildly.
