Apology if similar to my question have been here many times already. I found an Ex 7.3 black/limited with 300K miles in TX, just two doors to replace. Seems like rig was taken care of it, unfortunately I'm not able to take it a look in person prior to auction. What would you pay the highest? I'm ok to bid $4k... checking VIN now

In my area in CA, 7.3L 4x4 close to 300K miles sellers asking around $11K. So, considering repairs needed, shipping to CA etc. Hope to get it around $4K

Gonna need more than 2 doors, friend. That B pillar is going to need some serious work as well as the rear fender well under the large window. If you were to get it cheap, parts alone would make you some money on it, though. ~$3000 would be where I would draw the line on this one.
Tires and batteries do look good, though.

it's not my first salvage title vehicle in CA, just need break/lamp/smog/vin inspections to get registration done when fixed.

Hmm Might go over 4k to be honest... 7.3's are pricey. That being said its probably worth it as doors aren't too expensive and the pillar can be worked back into shape. tires and batteries look fresh so hopefully a sign of good maintenance..
I usually buy from IAAI, they seem to only deal with "true" insurance company lots and not regular auction lots which are sometimes put up by shady dealers taking advantage of the fact that you buy sight unseen most of the time.
I'd say if you're handy and really want that particular truck I'd pay ~$6k for it. Do most of the work yourself and pick it up with u-haul or a buddies trailer to save on shipping. If you're lucky you might be able to go to the branch and drive it out of there on its own, but thats a huge gamble in my experience. Done it too many times lol.
Sooo if you buy it, make sure to make a detailed build thread!
