1948 F1 Mustang II with 302 -- Oil Pan Dilemma

Well we finally got the Mustang II Cross member, Disc brakes, and suspension installed in the 48 F1, with no major problems.

Next is trial fitting the 1968 Mustang 302 and FMX engine and transmission mounts.

I purchased the for Racing 302 rear sump oil pan, as previously suggested, but I now have another problem.

The 68 Mustang 302 has the oil dipstick in the timing cover, the new oil pan comes with a dipstick, but the dipstick it is for a hole in the block, along side of the oil pan.

Now what ???

You need a pan with the dipstick in the pan. The early foxbody stangs had these pans. Sometime in the 80's Ford moved the dipstick to a hole in the block.
