Ignition timing 1976 302
I've looked under the hood for the emissions sticker but it isn't there. None of the reproduction stickers are available for this combo (manual trans). Anyone know the initial timing, with vac advance plugged?

Well I worked on it a little this evening. It was around 5 or 6 BTDC when I first checked it. I've worked up to 10 degrees and it seems to run good. I don't trust my ear that well to hear spark knock, so I'm thinking I'll leave it there. I've read of pre emissions 302s liking upwards of 15 degrees, but this engine only put out like 150 hp stock so it's not like it's gonna make a world of difference, so I'm not planning on pushing my luck.

Go old school on setting the timing...
Hook up a vacuum gauge, and time it to maximum vacuum. Once maximum vacuum is reached, back off just a bit.
If it pings on hard acceleration, back off a bit more
