Unhappy Ignition Timing

I'm new here and this probably has been answered 100 times, but, I need an answer. I transplanted a 302 out of a 1985 F150 into my 74 Bronco and I'm looking for timing specs. It has a Holley 4V carb with a hose to PCV at valve cover off the rear base plate, C4 auto trans, power brakes and some off brand electronic distributor with vacuum advance but no other vacuum operated features. It starts and runs good but I don't know what the initial timing should be set at. I set it with a vacuum gauge. Any help is appreciated!

Setting the timing with a vacuum gauge isn't a bad idea, and your initial timing is gonna be something between 6-10 BTDC.

Of course, this depends on your elevation.
