4wd conversion on 78
Hi all, I have a 78 f150 2wd with a worn out 300 3spd. My coworker is wanting to get rid of a 79 bronco chassis 351, c6 Dana 44 front and a 9" rear with 4.11 gears. I want to buy the chassis and swap the entire drivetrain and steering/ suspension from the bronco frame to the frame under my truck. How hard would it be to use everything from the bronco to convert my truck over to 4wd? Would everything be a bolt in or are there any differences in frame width or anything I need to know?

Not a bolt on... prolly more work than you are willing to do. Visually compare the frames and component mounting locations and you should come to the same conclusion... take a look at that honking 2wd crossmember that will be occupying the same space as the front axle's pumpkin. Uh-huh.
A body swap is possible provided you can fabricate.... got a 220v welder, right?
