Driver Side Battery Tray

for a dual battery setup, is there a battery tray available for the driver side? Seems the overflow tank is in the way for one to mount like the passenger side mounts, and I may need to move my AC Dryer mount downward some....wondering what's out there.

There is a stock tray that goes on driver side for the dual battery setup. I made my own out of angle iron.

Here's mine. It's a bit rusty and I've never had a battery installed in it. Don't know if it was factory or dealer installed. My truck towed a fifth wheel at some point in it's life and may have been ordered with it.

Mmm, rusty.

I have one that came out of a 76 F350, I'll dig it out and take a pic.

X2 on they are hard to find and harder to find not all rusted out. You can get a passenger side one and mod it to work easy enough.

If twin has one, that is the easiest route to go.

Thanks.

I have a new passenger side one that I was looking at to see if I could make it work, and I probably can, but it's much easier to bolt in the parts that were made to go there

I pick 'em them up at the JY whenever I see one. Have like five of 'em.. One has dibs and I recall the others need patching.

I pull them too. I have found three 3 good ones, one was nearly NOS, but they have all been installed. I know where a fourth one is but I don't know its condition because it has had a battery sitting in it with the pickup shoved on a manure pile for at least 10 years. My brother is trying to get it for the few useable parts. I will keep an eye out though.

I would love one of those driver mounted battery trays HIO. How bad are they in need of patching? My passenger side tray has a few rust holes so it's not too big of a deal to me as long as it can hold the battery.

You can still get the passenger side ones brand new from RockAuto...around $30 as I recall.

Driver side ones aren't repopped though.

Ebay had the repops a few weeks back. I almost paid stupid $ till I realized my parts trucks had them I installed mine and am now thinking man the batteries look like crap in there. may put them in boxs underneath and remote post front and rear for charging and jumping with quick disconnects.

D-rat, There is a guy selling them on EBay. He has one on there right now. It’s a repo but looks identical. Price....$150 is what he is getting for them.

Used I’ve seen them going from anywhere from $50 on up depending on condition but originals don’t come up that often.
