Can anyone tell me if this ticking is the injector noise from the tsb. Just recently started doing this doesn't sound right to me.

Anyway, let's start here. Is your oil up to full, recent change? And is it Diesel rated. What weight?

If this just popped up, go old school on it and put a long handled screwdriver on your heads engine running and see if you can isolate the "tick" with the driver on your ear with a set of earmuffs on. This will narrow it down to a cylinder.

mine sounded like that.....

I had

12 bent push rods (within 1/16th of an inch)

1 push rod was bent more than 1/8th inch

1 rocker was on the bottom of valve area with no ball. the ball was found as well.

1 rocker had not tip

3 rockers had badly work tips

generally, the intake rockers were worse than the exhuast rockers.

my guess, is that you have a rocker with no ball, or no tip.
