Ok so while I was looking at my brake lines in the Oreilley's parking lot, I noticed taht my flex plate/TC had a definite wobble to it while idling... Is that normal???? Probably about 1/4"
I checked and rechecked all the connections and they are all good and tight, the TC is still torqued to the flex plate, and the trans-motor bolts are as tight as I can get them with a 3/8" drive and cheater bar.
I am about to drive this beast down to Houston next weekend so I need it running RIGHT before I take off.
You probably shouldn't drive it. What you should do to be safe is fly me out to help you repair it and do your axle. Something to think about.
but seriously, it should be fine. Mine used to have the appearance of moving around at idle. I thought it was questionable as well, but it was ok as far as knew and never gave me issues.
Lee, I never put it back on because it was rubbing the flex plate after I put it all back together. I thought I had bent it somehow while removing or while it was sitting in the bed of the truck, and never got around to straightening it back out and putting it on after the swap.
Thanks, Byron! That gives me a little peace of mind... still unnerving though.
