After hours of research and reading this site, I decided that I was going to order an F150 with a 6.5 ft. bed, King Ranch.
I then found one in route to a dealership that appears to check nearly every box:
-no chrome package
-360 degree camera
-moonroof
A few items of concern:
-It's an Fx4. I've read where some hate the ride and some think it rides more smoothly as a daily driver. Not looking to start another thread on this (I think I've read them all).
It doesn't have Adaptive Cruise Control or Active Park Assist. I haven't found anyone who absolutely loves these features and think they are must haves. What say you, Ford-Truckers?
One last question -- Dealer is offering about $8k off of MSRP. Seems pretty reasonable compared to what I've seen online.
Only thing I don't have that I would have liked to have had is the 360° view thing. With the supercrew + 6-1/2' box, it is a bit of a challenge in tight quarters. I manage OK, but sometimes I'm not 100% clear on where the corners are.

Good deal. Thanks.
How does the 6.5 ft bed ride? Is it a smooth ride? Do you have the Fx4?

We have the sport 4x4 with the tow package. Pretty much an FX4 without the skid plates. It's a pretty cush ride, although the suspension sometimes shudders on frost heaves and similar. Best ride of any truck we've owned.
I have a SuperCrew FX4 with a 6.5' bed. Mine is an XLT Sport. The ride is very nice. The rear is slightly stiff, but I have the Max towing pkg. The only small dislike About the longer wheelbase is the turning radius. Not a deal breaker though.

Thanks. Mine has the Max Towing as well, so the comment is appreciated.
I have the adaptive cruise, I like it, but wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it. I have the park assist, never used it other than just to see if it works, it does but no need for it in my neck of the woods. Not sure the FX4 package on the new F150's ride any dirrently than non FX4 trucks do, I believe the package is just Hill Descent and skid plates, I believe the shocks are the same. (Not 100% sure though) at any rate, mine rides smoother than any pickup I've ever owned.

I went a test drove an F150 157" WB and an F250 gas back to back. I love the look of that F250, but just couldn't go with it after driving them both. F150 fits my needs and drove like a dream.
I'm now thinking about ordering because of one small issue. I like the look of the SuperCrew with the 6.5 ft bed with the towing mirrors. The truck that is heading to the dealership has the normal mirrors. I know its expensive to do afterwards, but does anyone think that the dealership would install them to get the deal done?
I'm anxious to get a new truck, but for that kind of money, I'd really like it to be exactly what I want.
They might do them at cost and give you some credit for the mirrors on the truck. Dealer cost for parts is substantially less than what a retail customer pays over the counter.
So good news/bad news. The dealer said they would do the switch at no cost to me. The only problem is that the towing mirrors will not have the capability to fold in electronically. I'd have to fold them in manually.
Any insight in to how annoying that would be? Or no big deal?
[By the way, I'm dealing with Mo at Helfman Ford near Houston. I've talked to 15+ dealerships and the reason I mention him is because he's a really good dude. He worked with me on the price (and the mirrors) and even though I've since found some better deals, there's something about the way he's handled this process that makes me okay with that. He's a straight shooter. FWIW.]
It's only a problem if you park in a normal sized garage, go through drive through lanes, park on the street or in tight parking spaces. It's easy to pull the driver side in though. I had power fold on my Super Duty. Didn't think too much one way or the other as they were new that year. I came to see the power fold as almost a necessity with those big mirrors.
That dealer said the tow mirrors couldn't be added. I was about to place the order when I found a match in New Mexico. Texas dealer went and got it and still beat the NM price:
