Hey guys. Just got my tuner from alligator performance had em put custom tunes on it. My question is can I hook it my truck straight outa the box or do I have to hook it to the computer and update it?

 

I'd call the supplier, but I'd think if they wrote custom tunes for it, it would be updated. If your going to delete, be sure you tune the truck BEFORE you remove any hard parts....definitely a huge suck factor if you remove everything and have issues with the truck accepting the tunes....

 

With my tuner, the actual firmware needed an update, even though custom tunes were on it. Run the tuner software and let it see if it needs an update. It shouldn't affect the tunes at all, just the firmware.

 

Yeah, you will more than likely be instructed to hook up to your computer and run an update on it before downloading to the truck. I was on each occasion.
