Illinois Chapter March 2017 BS thread
Rick, she had some issues 5 or 6 years ago with her right ankle. She saw a different foot doctor and things settled down. About 3 months ago, she started having some discomfort and shooting pain in it. She could also "snap" the ankle louder than a person could snap their fingers. She went to see my orthopedic because he only deals with foot and ankle issues. His twin brother is at the same practice and does the same discipline. They both heard her snap and examined her. Had her get an MRI that revealed that she has 2 extra bones in the ankle, some degeneration of the cartilage and the snapping is caused by a tendon rubbing and hanging up on one of the extra bones. She got a cortisone injection a few weeks ago and it helped some, but not enough.

Did the issue with the headaches get resolved?
Yeah, biggest issue is going to be the tendon. Sounds like he is needing to cut it to shorten it. That is why she is going to be in the boot and crutches for so long. He will do the surgery on a Friday like mine and she will be off from work the following week. Then I will have to drive her around because of it being her right ankle. Payback for everything that she has done for me when I have been restricted over the last year.

They have been mitigated between a couple of pressure point ear piercings, quarterly Botox injections. Her headache doc has reduced some of her preventive meds and they are slowly seeing how far they can be reduced. She still gets some migraines but at least now she can function most of the time when she gets them.

My thoughts are with her like they were with you. Paybacks are sometimes hell, You did take her for better or for worse. I'm hopping the best for both of you.
