Or for a hundred bucks more you can get the Mishimoto.... or get some ribbed wire protector, which would look fine and then you could get the XDP one...
I use Wix filters. If you are going to get a coolant filtration system, make sure you get one with dual isolation valves so you don't leak coolant all over the place when you change filters.
My DieselSite kit came with slick valves, but at the time of install I read a tip about just using stiff spring hand clamps to clamp the hoses shut while changing the filter. I like the KISS principal, and not needing two more valves to deal with (another leakage source), I left them in the box. Nice kit though.
I installed my XDP coolant filter kit today. Went pretty good and looks nice. I decided to remove a 4" section of hose at the heater valve and installed the new hose and tee there instead of at the metal pipe by the alternator as instructed. The old hose was frozen onto that metal pipe and I did not want to open up a major can of worms by trying to get it off. With that 4" still in there it pushed the heater hose on the firewall side of the valve back so much that it was kinking. Ran the truck round the block and checked for leaks so all appears to be good. I will take pics in the AM when the sun comes back out.
I should have shortened the hose too, but it had been a long day and it was getting dark. It's not kinked too bad and provides enough heat, but I'll be cutting it when I get the time.
I thought everybody picked a different color for Horse Power?!?!
+ 10 HP for black
+ 50 HP for Blue
And.............
+ 200 HP for Red
My oldest boy when I first installed my coolant filter thought it so cool that mine was blue, and he said "now when you open your hood it looks like it has alot of power".

I about wanted to smack upside the head.
That's as good as "This car goes REALLY Fast! It's got 4 tail pipes!" As he was pointing at the dual exhaust with double outlet tips.
