Tuesday 9/2/03 Ford is going to reflash with newest program for 6.0 L deisel and I was told by the Ford District Manager this will fix the Mileage problem.

So there is a new Flash coming out this week!? Cause my milage is only 16.9 max right now. Granted I only have 500 miles on her.
Also, how are you guys finding out about the reflashes. Does the dealership call you or something? And, it doesn't cost anything to get it done, right? I'm still new to this board and still learning.... TIA for the help!

Unless, you're best buds, they don't call you cold to tell you... you've had to make an issue of it with their svc dept and/or
call to find out...
I'm getting ready to bring mine back in as well for just the mpg issue... 15 to 20% drop in mileage is not something Ford would like advertising about... I wouldn't call that a 'fix' would you?

But it's free, right? And I should get better MPG? How long does it take for them to do? And when should I call to find out if the dealership has it or not?

As everyone here will till you, Ford does nothing for you unless you complain, If your not telling them it's broke there not going to fix it.

Cool...the truck has to go in on Monday to get the Heated Seats and Cab lights installed. So, when I drop it off, I'll tell them about it. I'm going to have the GM with me at that time anyway.

One last question.....The reflash will be available on the 2nd, or are you just going in to get it done on the 2nd and it's out now?
My truck is going in tomorrow, the 1st, and while it's in there, I could just get them to do it then... Any info you can provide will be more than appreciated!! TIA for your help!!
