I just got a new 2017 f250 and decided on 2wd for the sake of simplicity, but shopping around for lift kits, it looks like everybody makes kits for the 4x4 only! Will these work on a 4x2? Can I even lift my truck?
Oklarado is correct that the front end is totally different. It's not gonna be easy and I don't think you'll be that satisfied. Reminds me a of a guy who tried to save a buck by skipping on the Sirrus radio =P
It would take alot of blocks I'd think. I'm no lifting expert, but the twin I beam would require both the outside and inside to be blocked in order to keep the geometry right. On the twin I beam the wheels don't actually go up and down, the follow an arc from the inside point of each I beam. The beams cross in order to give a longer arc. The idea is to be strong like solid axle but provide the better ride of independent front suspension.
You might want to check out the older truck forums and see what they do, back in the day Ford did yous the twin I beam on 4x4 as well.
That's the principle of what you'd want! I wouldn't think going back 2 generations would line up though. Maybe call them and see if they'd be willing to fab you one for the new chassis.
