My f250 did not come with any footwell / ambient lighting. is there a factory kit to add it? Also looking for cup holder lighting. Found a place that only does LED lighting for F150's.
Tagging along here. I need more cab lighting. My 11 super cab has near zero cabin lights. It's such a PITA at night. The only thing I have is the two over the rearview.
A cheap way to go for lighting, would be to buy the LED strips with the sticky backing. Mount it under the edge of the dash, or at the bottom of the door panels. These could be tied into the door switches for when you open the doors or into the interior light switch. These lights are bright white and should illuminate the cabin with no problems. I'm sure you can find these on EBay, but here's a link.
I've never had it fall off myself, but, if that's the case then, go to your local hardware store, buy some small plastic C-channel or box channel, mount that under the dash or wherever, stick the LED's inside of that. If the backing gives out, the edges of the channel will keep it from falling out. Buy a small enough channel that the LED strip fits snug.
Thanks for the info, I looked at that and i have concerns as I have used sticky back units and they did not stay sticky very long on a bar I built
After you put them on, use exterior clear silicone and put little dots on the edges every couple inches, if the sticky fails, the silicone holds, I do it all the time, works great. Even used this method for Jeep rock lights and they are holding up fine
