I drive a 1986 wth a 302 efi engine I'm in the process of putting it back together and can't remember where this goes or what it is anythin helps thanks guys

If you can't tell what that is I advice you to get proper help (I'm guessing you come from working on Chevys). That's the ignition coil and mounting bracket, and it's positioned above the driver side injector bank, near the firewall. The small capacitor to the side is meant to remove engine noise from the radio signal, if it shorts it can burn some maxi fuses (fuel pump circuit, will let you stranded), you can safely remove it and the engine will work.
