speakers?

Hey all,
I am looking at the next purchase.....car audio. On the site I am planning on buying from, they list the depths of the certain speakers. Does anyone know what depth of speaker I can put in my 96? Thanks

Just about every 6 1/2 speaker will fit in your door...within reason. Just your normal 2 or 3 way 6 1/2 should work just fine. Likewise for the rear panel. Unless you are looking at competition speakers with enormous magnets you should be fine.

I have 6 1/2 in doors and 5x7's in the rear panel. The doors can handle a 3 7/8 depth and rear can be a 6x8 up to 2 1/2 deep. I used the 5x7's because I already had them. And if you've got the extra dough look into some foam baffles for them they are supposed to help the sound I'm iffy about that, but they do protect them from dust, dirt etc. They are only a couple bucks a set, not bad if they make your speakers last longer. Also pull the whole rear panel to replace the rear speakers not just the grills in the panel the tabs holding them will break easily and then the rear mounting screws are hard to get to. Voice of experience, thats one short cut I wont take again. Hope this helps.

An oversight on my part. What is involved in pulling the rear panel to get better access to the rear speaker?

Not too much more work Wheel you will need the trim along the rear windows (be carefull with the plastic fasteners the heads get brittle over time but they are cheap to replace if they break) then all you have is about 4 or 6 screws to remove. You may want to take out the back seat to give you a little more room to work also, but its not necesary. Dont worry bout the seat belt just pull some slack in it and move the panel out of you way.

Nope, no inside spare. I just took the rear tire carrier off of it. It has some rust forming on it, and I dont want it jumping to my fenders. I am going to repaint it soon and throw it back on. So knowing this, what is involved with pulling those panels?
