Difficult to determine the oil level the dipstick

Has anyone else found it hard to determine an accurate oil level on a 6.2 dipstick?

Every time I check, oil is smeared so high up on the dipstick it is all but impossible to determine an accurate level.

I was just curious if I were the only one with this issue.

I am going to let it sit all night and check it cold in the morning before starting it - maybe that will work better?

usually one side is like that and the other side better.

Also, are you pulling it out, wiping it off then checking it?

Yes. And yes one side is much worse than the other. But it indicates it is way over full which I know it's not.
