Vin # ????

I need to know if any one has ever come across a frame stamped like this ever from the factory. The truck history I know and it was never in an accident since bought new from Ford.I ended putting this truck on a non-op with CA DMV due to smog issues years ago. The truck was a f-250 Custom with snow fighter package that was purchased new from South Lake Tahoe in 1979. I did a complete body to another truck. I have title still and was checking vin stamps on the frame for another project. This frame as 2 vin numbers stamped in engine bay and under the cab. The Vin numbers are F26SRDE #### and below is F15SRDG ####. The truck also had F-250 Custom badges on driver side and F-150 Custom on passenger fender right of the dealer lot. Just wondering if anyone has seen this on any other 1979 F-250 truck before? Thanks in advance for any information about this issue?

Maybe it was stamped on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend...

Look for evidence of welds in the frame, or a re-stamp...that really shouldn't be that way

I can't say what is up with your truck, but I have heard stories of vehicles being damaged in shipping to a dealership. Then being sent back and salvaging what can be instead of scrapping the whole thing.
