I must say Randy knows his stuff, specially regarding electrical stuff in these trucks. I would definitely follow his advice. And in the end it's worth the small hassle it could mean upgrading the charge cable vs. the possibility to get a fire under the hood.

The other truck was fine for at least 6 years and this one going on 2 years. I did a 1 wire 100 amp alternator on my 65 Mustang and don't believe the charge wire for it is any larger, but I'll look and see. What your saying makes sense, and it may be something to consider doing. Do you have a suggestion on an OEM wire to use, or should I just make one?

I have read many folks grab the charge wire and fuse from a Taurus.
I purchased mine from RJM before Ryan closed his business. Very thick wire 0/1 gauge perhaps.
The power dropped across a length of wire increases to the square of the current flow. That's why you need to ensure you keep the resistance as low as possible.
