I have a 1984 f150 with a 351w. I rebuilt the carb as i had some leakage in the pump ***. Rebuilt carb(2150 with pollution parts). Installed on manifold. Started engine and carb flooded out. Removed air horn assembly. Started up and gas was bypassing float because gas pressure was to high. Replaced fuel pump and had same problem. I checked fuel pressure and according to shop manual it was in spec. 6-8 psi. My question is their a orifice that would be between fuel filter and seat assem. that I am missing?
That almost has to be the problem, assuming the fuel pump pressure isn't excessive. It's good practice to replace needle and seat, if they aren't part of a rebuild kit. Float height/fuel height check carefully.
