I have found a crashed Navigator with a good engine and trans. The Navi is a 1999 model and I want to swap the drive train into my 2001 F-150. I have a couple of questions?
1. Where are the ECU and ECM located?
2. Are there any emission differences between a 1999 model and a 2001 model?
1. Passenger side on the firewall in the engine compartment...behind the battery.
2. Hard to say since there are different emission standards depending on the original sales location of the vehicle. Your best bet is to compare the emission stickers under the hood to see if there's any significant differences.
