Chrome Wheels pitting

Hand washed the truck for the first time yesterday since it was 70 Degrees outside in February.

Noticed the wheels had small black dots on them. Though it was tar, but it appears to be brake dust pitting.

What can I do to prevent this buildup and future pitting?

That's a common issue with PVD (chrome powder coat) wheels. The best deterrent is weekly (minimum) cleaning. Some guys talk about clear coating, but I haven't come across anything that works really well. Hopefully someone will reply with a brand that works. These are Alcoa wheels too...I didn't expect to see them putting much if at all.

Wax the wheels twice a year.
