2017 6.7 Is there a way to make it to where I can actually hear the turbo spool without doing anything major? I don't hear it at all and I would like to.
I know, that is one of the things I miss about my '11....and incidentally was also a factor in favor of the Ram, just not weighted important enough to push me that direction.
I guess it's all really just prefrence... took the wife to grab dinner earlier ... ole timer walked up and asked if it was gas or diesel because of how quiet it is...lol.. I was kind of offended but kind of happy! He preceeded to brag about his 7.3 lol... good talk and he loved my truck.
Some days I miss my old nasty 7.3. I had the GTP38R ball bearing turbo in it, so it really howled…I loved it! Most days I am pretty content with the quiet nature of the new rig. I can say my wife is much happier to take long trips in it now.
Been there, done that (with all the noise), I now look forward to near silence.... well other than my Italian wife yapping at me 'bout her honey doo list.
A cold air intake allows more sound from the turbo, but I too am liking the silence. I had a '97, 7.3 fully modded for 16 years, and finally got sick of all the sounds.
Im sure a single event tune will be available soon, lol
Imagine this, wired to an upfitter switch. Old-school diesel noise when you want it; near silence when you don't. I'd pay decent money for this feature.

Me too, thats an interesting idea
I wrote one sotf for my dodge , i liked it
I've never looked into availability with ford tuning i dont see why it wouldnt be doable with an ez link and sotf switch or another platform
My friend has a 2011 that someone turned into an excursion. It has no DPF and the turbo is super loud. I think all the exhaust system on these eat up all the turbo noise.
