I think one of things you will need to do though is to install a trans cooler and guage if there is not one already.
My truck has a cooler and trans temp gauge stock, but I've heard that it may be on the small side and a larger aftermarket unit is sometimes needed. If I get the trailer, I'll keep an eye on trans temps and figure out if I need one. thanks!
The Towing Guide is the source. I posted a couple of weeks ago, the VIN decoder on FTE comes up with so many errors it is almost useless in my opinion. I have found it to be wrong time after time and have stopped using it.
You need a 6.0 transmission cooler and you can not depend on the transmission temperature gauge on the dash. It doesn't budge until it is way too late.

I kinda figured that 14,000 was too good to be true Good info on the trans cooler, thanks!
I was searching trucks on dealer lots and the Internet and the decoder was consistently wrong. It gave the wrong models, the wrong wheelbases, etc., etc. I wasn't a one time thing, it was wrong at least a dozen times and others on FTE found the same thing after I posted to make others aware of the inaccuracies. Just jump a few posts back on this thread for an example.
