A friend had an E350 I really liked apart from the mileage (it was a 460) so I found a nice 6.9IDI (turbo) van I used for most of 15 years. Looking for something a little bigger I bought a couple of 7.3 ambulances. I don't know if it was the 7.3 or the box on the back but they didn't get nearly the fuel economy of the 6.9. Then I bought another E350, a 4x4 conversion with an interesting body... and the 460. :-( I had thought to do something clever with a 4BT but since I'm moving away from the narrow road I lived on, I've got room to spread out so... I alway did like the ford mediums so if I'm going to get lousy mileage I might as well have the space. One F700 later and I need to clean out the driveway!
