Check the fluid level in the master cylinder...mine was on and someone suggested I check the level. Sure enough it was low and causing the light to come on. I topped it off and she's right as rain.

The red Brake light turns on when the brake fluid level is low. The yellow ABS light turns on when there is a fault.

both my ABS light and brake light just came on, I looked over the Haines manual and did not totally grasp the code checking with a jumper.
