New owner modifying joy

I recently replaced my 2012 F-150 FX4 with a 2017 Expedition Limited. I love the Expedition, but miss the pickup. Oh well. Can't have it all....

I have been searching the posts looking for something about replacing the interior lights with LEDs. I have done this with my F-150 as well as my wife's Toyota Venza. It makes a huge difference. While I am not concerned about the installation, I have also searched the web on any information about taking off the light lenses. Don't want to break anything there. Anyone that has done this and run into any thing I should be aware of, please chime in.

Front flap mud guards and molded rear guards have been installed with limited frustration. I do exploration geology work in Nevada and I know mud and dust will foul the automatic deployable side steps, so the guards are a must have feature. I have turned the system off in the Settings, but need to protect the motors and mechanism.

Love the vehicle and engine!

I just used a small flat-head screw driver to pry them open. They are fairly forgiving.
Now, the license plate lamps in the rear, unless they changed the design, the retaining tabs are good for one, maybe two installation cycles. Be careful with those.

Thanks Beachums,

I did just that. You are right, they are quite forgiving. Before finding where the clip nodes were using a flat head screwdriver, they did bend but none broke. I did not do the license plate replacements. Just the interior.

I do want to replace the exterior backup lights with a projector LED and have those on its way now. Not much info out there on the web for these LED bulbs as to what will fit. Either eBay or Amazon has them, but to find what will or will not work with our vehicles is somewhat difficult to research.
