I have a small switch in the camper to disconnect the battery from the charging circuit in the truck and another one on the battery to disconnect the battery itself from everything. My issue will be forgetting to turn them on or off at the right times :-)

 

Does your Explorer just eat batteries? Do you know what the drain is? I've gone a month without driving my Jeep, and it fires right up.

 

I know there is a tiny drain on the lights on the switches-- but I think the battery is 6- 7 years old It works fine until I let it sit for 3 or 4 weeks.

 

Yep, you should hook those switches to you ignition switch through a relay, so if the key is off, they are off. I know a guy who is an electronics technician who could do that for you.

 

ha haha they are already on relays-- I asked you- and you have an electronics degree too!

SO I am thinking of spending the night in the camper-- if it doesn't rain again--- My friend said I could go to his pasture anytime it is dry.

 

Well it looks like I am ready to hit the road on Friday-- The truck will have new tires-- the exploder will have new front axle parts and the camper will be ready to go! Have a spare battery- and water tank will be filled in a little while!-- Wifey went grocery shopping-- I just have to gather just in case tools and load a ew little things and whoosh-- off to NE
