I'm doing a 10.25 swap in my 86. It had a 10.25 originally but the pinion seal was leaking and instead of fixing I chose to get a newer version of the sterling with the longer splined pinion. I have the axle mounted (and didn't have to shorten the drive line) and when I took off the brakes at the beginning of the switch I forgot to take a picture of how the springs were. The pictures are of what I have done so far. There are some springs left over, one of the shoe hold down springs and two of the purple springs that resemble the blue spring I have on the bottom. Did I get the adjuster right? Also what are the silver u's for, the new parts came with 2.
Left over parts, one shoe gold down spring and two purple springs. Wheel cylinder before i installed parking brake assembly. Am i missing something. Another open hole? Do i have the adjuster assembled correctly?
I've never done brakes on a sterling, but it looks to me like you're missing a spring on the adjuster assembly?
I'll leave it for someone else to confirm or deny but from the drum brakes I've done usually there is a spring maybe in that little slot to the left of the L in the picture with the adjuster on it?
EDIT: I see it in the picture above it now, nevermind!
I have had kits accidentally come with extra springs before so idk.
