Hi all,
I've recently started helping out a buddy with an off road pit crew team. We frequently end up in the middle of the desert late at night looking for our pit. I am interested in some off road lights for my 2011 F-150 but I don't want one of those light bars on the cab that seem to be so popular. I was considering changing my headlight bulbs to LED but I also don't want to blind other drivers as the truck is my daily driver. I've also seen light bars designed to go behind the grill and wondered if anyone had first hand experience with those. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
More lighting at night but not blinding others.....hmmmm, sounds like we motorcycle guys. Yeah, we go through it all the time. It's not a difficult thing to do to install a relay to have aux lighting come on only when the high beams are selected. Even better is a relay/dimmer/controller that has the aux lights on at 20-30% with low beams for a little extra light and full blast with high beams.

Go with a good set of KC lights and mount them where you like them.
'where to mount them' is part of his question, not sure how "mount them where you like" helps...
If you're searching for a pit spot in the dark, I would think a higher mounting would be better than a bumper mount.
Why not just look at what several other teams have done? Go to school on them.
