I assume the poster did not install them and the installer didn't know what he was doing. Those don't even look like the proper fasteners, but maybe they are.
Sorry you are having problems with the install. Agreed that Youtube is a big help since the instructions are difficult for the first time installer. Not necessary for the second time around. Those images represent a terrible job of installation. I believe the brackets should be aluminum if they are similar to the single wheel kits, which are not painted at all. Paint and powder coating do not play well with aluminum if it has to be shaped to fit the wheel house at all. Advice to clean up and touch up is worth it. But I can't understand why they are crooked? I installed mine with a good level. Maybe just too **** but I would not accept that. And secondly, why can we see the tire through a gaping void in the installation. Either something isn't installed correctly or something is completely missing. Or maybe it is a poor design.
I snapped a few shots of the back yesterday while getting the truck ready to go pick up a new project. I'll try to get some in the fender shots next time I get it out.
I just got mine delivered yesterday (Thursday) and I will install them tomorrow (Saturday)
I ordered mine with a F350 logo instead of Ford logo, but I guess because of it, it come with a template to cut the hole myself
I ordered from AutoTruckToys.com and pay 420 total including brackets ( more that $100 from dealer) and for some reason come in three different shippings, and mudflaps include self tapping screws, I'm guessing if you don't want to use brackets
The Gatorback flaps that I bought from the dealership were pre drilled. They came in two boxes, front and rear, with the mounting brackets in the box with them. The dealership charged me $460 out the door for them.
I would think that cutting the holes wouldn't be fun.
It wasn't that fun but not the end of the world, just a white sharpie, drill bet and a pocket knife but absolutely it would have been more easy with predrill
I will install them later today, days are just too short for me
Btw the brackets are already drilled just the mudflaps not
I drilled the rear mud flaps 3/4" higher than the template so the flaps would hang 3/4" lower. The top of the rear mud flap will then align with the bed crease and looks level with the front flaps.
I bought my F350 4 months ago. I have had a myriad of issues so far. They include;
Leaking roof through satellite antenna
Moisture in the headlight assemblies so much that it affected the light patterns.
Replaced infotainment system, no audio on any function.
Drivers door wouldn't close unless you jimmied the latch. They replaced latch.
Both rear door locks wouldn't work with either fob or manual. Repaired twice.
Loud bang out of the rear end twice in the same day -30C checked rear end gears and checked for filings non to be found. Still an issue. I suspect the selector switch for the rear diff lock is the problem.
Engine will not heat up when cold. They told me it was operating properly. Could not explain why the truck would not heat up even when the engine is screaming at 1300rpm on remote start. No heat in cab except for the blow dryer supplemental heater. If I drive it for about 30kms at highway speed it will produce heat in cab.
just waiting for the next issue. Only have 15,000 kms on the truck.
