2017 Escape Issue
We just got a new 2017 Escape Titanium AWD and are having an intermittent issue.
While sitting still or moving slow, when turning the steering wheel there is a popping sound coming from the driver side floorboard. You can hear as well as feel it under your left foot.
Turn the wheel, feel and hear it. Turn the wheel back to center, feel and hear it again. Doesn't do it all the time.
Any ideas?

stop start
i have jamed the switch with a round tooth pick. i think ford would be smart to have a switch to permentley turn this useless feature off.Or give a life time warranty on ringear and starter.

Quite often this feature is required to meet emissions regulations in various jurisdictions - and those regulations normally prohibit simply being able to permanently disable it - so not always the manufacturers call.
