We just got a new 2017 Escape Titanium AWD and are having an intermittent issue.
While sitting still or moving slow, when turning the steering wheel there is a popping sound coming from the driver side floorboard. You can hear as well as feel it under your left foot.
Turn the wheel, feel and hear it. Turn the wheel back to center, feel and hear it again. Doesn't do it all the time.
we have one, like the car , but the stop start is a night mare,it serves no good, milage does not chang on or off. ther is no way the starter or ring gear will live past warrantee. if i had known this feature was on the car would not have purchased(i factory ordered, key start no sun roof 2litr turbo good power reasonable milage
Look in the owners manual, Lots of Ford rentals have the "stop start" feature.
There is a way to shut it off.....
yes i am aware but that button has to de pressed every time ignition is turned off
i have jamed the switch with a round tooth pick. i think ford would be smart to have a switch to permentley turn this useless feature off.Or give a life time warranty on ringear and starter.
