Which Panel Will The DPF Filter % Full Show On?

I am trying to work with my dealer on getting the DPF % Full screen activated through IDS as it was on my 2015.

Can someone who has had this successfuly done on their 2017 post a picture of the screen?

I presume nothing else is lost in the activation of the panel.

Thanks

I've never even heard that you could do that. I monitor through FORScan lite via a wifi OBD2 transmitter.

I would love to see this available within the stock info screens....

What is forscan? Is this a computer program that you can only check the DPF depending on wifi available?

also can't you just tell by sudden drop in fuel mileage?

Here's a great thread on the subject. Make sure you read from the beginning. It will answer just about any question you may have and will get you caught up on the current status of forscan and the new Super Duty.

FORScan is free software that, along with a Windows laptop and an OBDII adapter, provides access to the truck's computer much like a Ford dealer's IDS does. It allows you to read codes, see real-time PID values, and also change programming values.

Yes you can tell a regen is happening by seeing mpg plummet, and the engine also slightly changes tone, and the turbo boost gauge becomes much more active. However, the %Full screen would be much appreciated.

I wish there were 3 things that showed on the Ford screens without getting ForScan:
- Regen in process
- DPF % to indicate when a regen may be needed/ due
- % oil life remaining.

They already have that nice engine screen that shows hours, idle time, oil temp. Seems like this would be a great place to add a couple columns for these details.

Seastacker, those three things would make me happy as well.

If you don't want to get into the deep detail of the full FORScan software, there is a FORScan lite app you can get on your smartphone. You can pair that with a relatively cheap ($20) wifi OBD2 transmitter you can pick up from Amazon that plugs into your OBD2 port, and it allows you read pretty much any available PID/sensor within the truck and monitor it through your phone. You can even chart the readings.

I use the app to monitor my exhaust gas temps, engine coolant and oil temps, DPF soot percentage, regen status, miles between regens, etc. Here's a screen shot of my monitors from my phone

so you can have this active on your phone and do not need to purchase a laptop?

Also. There isn't a oil life percentage? I thought their is? How do you know when to change the oil?

How in the world did you get them to do that? At my local dealers, I can get a service, but beyond that it's pulling teeth and forget about anything custom. I need to befriend one of the diesel mechs.

Do you have Forscan? I would be interested to see the value they changed.

I'll be damned! That's awesome! If it can be done with IDS, it will only be a matter of time before Forscan can do it. If your dealer won't share how they did it, please at least post who your dealer is so I can have mine call them when my truck lands. I have to have this too...
