I just put a 4 inch Superlift suspension on my 95 f-150 2ws and the alignment is just out of wack. I'm curious as to how they can actually align the damn thing, anyone know? They don't bend the i-beam dispite that it says right on it not to do they? When i put the lift on, it felt like there was a slight drop in power, could that be just how much resistance there is in the tires?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Dec-01 AT 08:51 PM (EST)]Okey dokey here I go!
I just re did the alignment on my truck, and the camber.
There is a nut on top of the spindle that looks like this (pic at bottom) these are the old ones, the other pic is the new ones installed. See the castellated nut, right under that is the camber nut, its kind of shiny you can move it to any position.
They were like 30 bucks or so, brand name Moog.
The originals can only be adjusted like + or -1.00 degree and the Moog like + or - 3.00 degrees.
Yours is two-wheel drive and mine is four, but I think it’s the same concept.
Well i took a visit down to the alignment shop and they want to charge me 250 dollars to align the damn thing. It is out by more then 1 degree i think, my caster is pretty bad. The coils lifted the truck alil more then 4 inchs (i think to compensate for settling) maybe 5. So i'm going to have to play around with it for alil while cause i dont feel like spending 250 dollars for a stupid alignment damn ripoffs. When i went to the first place, he sells tires and alignment on the side, he didnt even wanna take it cuz of the caster..he only does toe in and toe out...and he said i might need to get the beam bent i was like ha ya ok..sure...i'll do that right away. I just have to play with where the i-beams meet the new axle pivot brackets i think cuz that controls the caster angles. Are those Moog nuts 30 bucks each or for the pair?
I took a look at my receipt they were $38, for the pair.
The PN on my camber nuts was K8555
The web site below shows the kit for your truck the PN is K8666, but there are more kits available with different degree of change.
You will have to buy two kits, one per box.
