Ride Quality

Can you guy and gals comment on the ride quality of the new 2017 Super Duty? Is it really that much beter then the old ones? I ask this because as I get older the ride quality becomes more and more important.

Thanks

i'm 68 yoa and have a '17 SD CCSB F250 platinum 6.7 (not FX) and the ride quality is greatly improved over my older SD-(compared to my '08 F250 CCSB V-10 Lariat)-and for what it's worth, my wife agrees

I have an FX4 and im not a fan of how it rides. I'll be getting new rancho 9000s when they come out. I had them on my last truck and it was so smooth. The non FX4 I test drove was pretty smooth.

I will say that my '17 was worlds better than my 2014 F250 at first, but then I found out they had the tires under-inflated. It still rides a bit better at more appropriate tire pressures than my prior -250, but it's also possible my shocks were toast in my old truck. I, too, and waiting for the Rancho 9000XLs to come out for this new truck.

I'm 65, Been driving Ford Super Duty's sense 1999 and have had approximately seven new trucks, without a doubt my 2017 F350 KR, 6.7, CC, LB, FX4 is the best riding and quietest truck I've ever owned!

I"m 56 and my 2017 350 SBCC FX4 rides like a dream on smooth road, rough road, you know you"re in a truck. All in all, my two cents, truck is awesome. Incredibly quiet for diesel, ride quality excellent, only issue I can think of for older drivers, is height. You literally have to climb, in and out. Make sure you get running boards.

As a side note on the issue of running boards, mine came with the fixed extended boards which work fine, but I switched to AMP power steps for looks and ground clearance. As a bonus, these steps drop a bit lower and come out a bit farther than the fixed boards, and I very much prefer them to get into/out of the truck. I'm actually quite surprised how much more I prefer them from a functional perspective. I believe the factory power steps are pretty much exactly the same as the aftermarket steps, so that may be a consideration when selecting options.

I'm 52 and have a good back but terrible knees. I too really, really enjoy the new power steps as they are wider and lower. This truck rides very different than the 2011. The jittery-ishness is gone and replaced by firm, planted and stable ride. The 2017 is not harsh or sharp as long as you keep tire pressure far away from max.

I have to agree with the others here. I previously had a 2014 F250, and this truck rides better than the old one. I've owned over 30 trucks so far. This is definitely the nicest one due to the advancements. Actually I bought this new truck is for my wife to pull horses with. She really likes it much better than her previous Infiniti QX70. It's hard to believe, but it rides much better than the Infiniti did.
The LED headlights are really worth the extra money. Make sure you have the automatic dimming headlights though as they are so bright that you wouldn't want to take a chance of high beaming someone. (That feature probably comes with the LEDs) The auto dimming headlights work unbelievably well. Ford really nailed it with this truck.

I am a 58 year old fat man with a recent bilateral knee replacement, currently in a 2015 SD Platinum, IMHO the ride, road noise and over all comfort, is better than the wife's 2015 explorer.
On trips to visit family in San Angelo, TX, which is a 1000 mile adventure, explorer stays in the barn!!

Ride quality can be very subjective. You owe it to yourself to test drive some trucks and see how you feel. In my opinion, the ride is much, much better than my previous trucks. And I went with the camper package option too.

If you would have done the door seal mod you wouldn't have heard that wind...

Thanks guys and gals for all your input I very much appreciate it. I do realize its mostly an opinion and can be subjective but its better to hear from those who have experienced it first hand instead of some sales guy or TV personallity telling me how much better these trucks are then last years model. Thanks also for disclosing your age.
