I wanted a new battery for my baby, so I went to the Interstate Battery shop. The guy at the counter sees me pull in the front, sees the van. And asked if I wanted a referbished battery?? What the Hell?
Hell no I don't. I ended up getting one for $180. only the best for my baby
Off topic from your incident, but.....
Several years ago, my wife had to rent a car for a business trip. She parked our Aerostar in the rental car parking lot and was at the counter to pick up her ride. A young kid behind the computer was asking her the year and model of the vehicle she had parked and she told him "Aerostar". The kid was adamant that such a vehicle didn't exist and was asking her for the spelling. After entering it again, with still no results, the agitated kid told her that our Aerostar didn't exist. The senior supervisor came over and, looking over the pimply kid's shoulder, said "Just type in 'Windstar' and see what happens." The computer was happy with that and the old man muttered something about the computer not liking old, discontinued vehicles.
I leave work about the same time as the high school next door and I have had many times with them riding along side me in a group pointing and making fun of me. I just keep proudly riding on.
As for the high priced battery, I wanted something that could handle the small power drain that my van has, and the 900 crank amps really starts it up nice.
I get looks and dirty comments all the time. Mine is white and people always say it is a "pedafile" van..... I just ignore them and continue on my day. I love my Aerostar!
I get nothing but good comments from people that venture to comment. Some remember the old days when they or their parents owned one of these great vehicles.
don-ohio (:^)
The only compliments I ever get is from other Aero owners. If I happen to be next to one at a gas station or something. The other one is always beat to hell, and mine is super clean. I always ask how many mile they have, I had one lady say over 300k. That poor van looked the part.
