Looking for a trim piece

Hello all, this is my first post. I came here because I couldn't find this piece or any part number for it. I was hoping you all could help. I have a 1985 f250 regular cab with the 8 foot bed xlt lariat edition and 6.9 idi that I'm restoring. On this truck there is a trim piece inside the cab in the back corners where the seatbelt meets the cab that goes from the top to the bottom of the cab and I can't find this piece anywhere. The one on my truck is faded beyond repainting or repair so I need new ones. I was hoping someone had an idea of the part number or where I could get one. The piece is number 4 onot the diagram. Thank you all for the help.

First, welcome to FTE! As for the truck, yours is a close match for Big Blue. But, we need pics.

On the trim panel, you are asking a tough question. I'm an neophyte part # finder and did not find it on the first try. In fact, I haven't even found the generic part number for sure, but suspect it is 2712. However, w/o the prefix and suffix that won't do you much good.

Perhaps Numberdummy will come along as he can probably answer the question off the top of his head. However, he is going to have to know the color of your interior first as that is what the suffix shows. So, go to my Certification Label decoder and figure that bit out for him.

And, I'll give it another try later today.

I'll definitely post some pictures! Thank you for the help, and I'll use what you posted and get the information. It's blue with blue interior. Thanks again!

Well, I could not find the part numbers in the catalog, in spite of lots of searching. However, I did find a thread on here in which I participated wherein the resident part # guru, Bill/Numberdummy, explained that the parts were obsolete by the time Ford finalized the catalog in 1994 so they, in their infinite wisdom, removed that info from the catalog. Fortunately, Bill has an earlier copy of the catalog and provided some info that I've captured on a web page here: Rear Corner Trim - ???Gary's Garagemahal

See if that helps. But, just an FYI, the #'s on a Ford part are not the part #'s. Instead, they are either ID #'s or engineering #'s. So, if you were to pull your panels you'd find something like E0TB-102713-AWN, which is the ID # for a red one from Dad's 1981. Sometimes people who don't understand Ford's brilliant system advertise something giving the ID # and calling it a part #. But, in the case of these panels I've not been able to find any.

Oh yes, does your interior look something like this?

Much of the aftermarket treats the embossed Engineering ID numbers as part numbers.

Yep, and turns the number 0 into the letter O. In fact, the Ford dealers frequently do that. So, sometimes you have to search quite a bit for parts.

Bill - Have you seen my post, #4? You provided the information a few years ago - from an early catalog.

I know you said that you have searched everywhere; would that include junk yards or craigslist? sometimes you can get lucky and find rare parts at the junk yards and the people at the counter dont know how much its worth. for example, i got an xlt tailgate trim piece in good shape for $35, when they cost like >$500 even in the 80s

just an idea
