Duals won't help lowend torque, we're talking longtubes with a single 2.5" exhaust and a high lift short duration cam.

Not worth doing it for gas mileage, haha. That's like $1500 if you're doing the MAF with a kit just for a bit better gas mileage

That exhaust work will still flow much better than stock if you use mendrel bent tubing so you will see lots more HP too. Also note that as indicated above the SD system generally runs leaner than MAF so the exhaust should deliver the mpg gains without a MAF swap.

Oh, I was gonna do an exhaust anyway. I get crush bent tubing at the local muffler shop. What size pipe should I get to make up for the slight loss through crush bending?

Just remembered I have cats now haha.

Any reason to keep them? Note: I live in a state with NO EMISSIONS TESTING at all.

Also, that'll cost me 3 times as much. My local exhaust shop will do a 2.5/2.75 dual exhaust system for $130 out the door.

The muffler shop is doing compression bends on a hydraulic bender I bet.. that isn't as bad as crush bends. Just use 2.5" tubing.

They do use a hydraulic bender I believe. It has a curved end the pipe fits against and as its pushed against the curved part, it bends. Does that sound like a hydraulic bender?

Watch this vids on how to pull codes, the check them. Also I may get flack for this, but I would do a trans swap instead of a gear swap. Go for the overdrive and that way you don't loose the lower around town driving hear ratio
