Side mirror disassembly

On the Platinum F350 trucks I have seen, the bumpers are painted, but the tops of the side mirrors are chrome. I have ordered a black one and would like those portions of the mirrors to be black as well. Would anyone know if they can be taken apart very easily?

Color match with vinyl. You probably won't tell the difference and it's cheap. There are some pics on here from guys doing the bumpers and grills and it looks good.

Ya, exactly what I was thinking, I was just hoping to be able to remove that chrome part and properly wrap the vinyl around it, rather than just trim it along the seam, possibly saving it from curling up later on.
