Tone/excitor ring

I have a limited slip traction lok from a mid 90s ford explorer that I'm going to put into my 95 F-150. Has 31 splines so everything is fine. When I got the LS, it came with an excitor or tone ring whichever you want to call it, for the speed sensor. So I have one from an explorer and one from and F-150. Are they the same? I was going to mount my 4.10 ring gear onto my carrier and have it all ready to go in, but that means I'd have to use the explorer tone ring as my F-150's is still in the truck. Is it ok to do that, or should I just use the F-150's tone ring when I get the axle disassembled. By the way, I'm changing from 3.55 gears to 4.10 gears, as well as installing the traction lok.

The F150 ring has 108 teeth on it. I couldn't find in the manual how many teeth the ranger has.

Ranger? I was talking Explorer.

Ranger/Explorer both use the same rear axle.

Maybe they did at 1 point, but not in atleast the mid 90s. My carrier is 31 spline and it came out of an explorer. The Ranger uses a 28 spline.

i'm 99 percent sure they use the same tone ring. Call a dealership and have them check part numbers to see if they are indeed the same.
