Air intake pic for 2015 sd 6.2
Air intake pic for 2015 sd 6.2
I was wanting to see pics of Cai on a f250 with 6.2 if anyone is running one . I am thinking about getting one and want to know what you guys think about them thanks.
I purchased an S&B Cold Air Intake for my 2015 F250 6.2L.
Fit & finish is average, for the 2015 it appears to be adapted from previous generation's of the 6.2L, specifically the Raptor (2011ish) 6,2L. The Raptors air box is structurally different than the 2015's, as it has less resonator chambers. When installing some passenger side hoses that attach to the oem airbox are left unaccounted for imo. I say this after watching some You Tube installation videos for the S&B intake on a 6.2L. Videos show older 6.2L with a different airbox. S&B instructions and any video is based on older airbox, not the airbox of the 2015 & 2016 SD 6.2L.
Performance is greatly improved imo. A lot more intake noise while driving is first noticed. Amazing how quiet the oem air intake is in comparison. No mechanical data to back up but truck felt more responsive. Co-workers have commented asking what mods I have done as they hear the truck arrive or leave work, so the intake noise isn't just noticed inside the cab. The truck just sounds meaner.
Would I recommend an S&B Cold Air Intake? Overall yes. Very happy with the performance of it. The fit and finish is average.
Just added a tune from 5 Star, using an SCT X4, presently using the 87 octane performance tune. Wow, what a difference. Truck/throttle is more responsive/snappier. Wife loves driving the truck generally, loves the power and now finds it better. The thing will haul azz. In spring I plan to try the 94 octane performance tune.
In the new year, adding Stainless Works full exhaust....headers with high flow cats & cat back exhaust in stock exit profile. Going to try to get some dyno time to get present baseline before SW exhaust & after. Stay tuned....
