I have been told that my fuel pressure may be the culpret but when I changed my fuel filter I had a gasoline shower, I did that to see if I do have pressure which I do CAN ANYONE HELP!!!!!!!
Check the ECC relay to see if its working, I just went through this a couple months ago with an 89 f150 5.0. The relay is located on the drivers side fender well next to the fuel pump relay.
It's actually EEC and it stands for Electronic Engine Control. This is basically the computer system that controls the powertrain. If it loses power the truck shuts off.

My Bad, I knew it was for some kind of engine control.
Originally posted by inlineguy my truck has that problem but the wire goin into the relay is all corroded and isn't connected to the plug anymore any ideas
Are you sure there is no contact at all? does it do it when it gets damp out. I wouldnt think it would run since if that relay doesnt work nothing else will work, since its at the begining of the circut.
Id go to a salvage yard and clip off a plug from another truck and replace your broken one and buy a new relay, corrosion was the culprit with mine to.
it had partial contact and was running like **** run fine for a biit then runn die run die. then just didn't run thats when i started to look hard and foud the problem
I recently replaced the EEC power relay. I bought two replacements, from my local Ford dealer and Advance, that did not work. The parts people gave me the relay indicated by their parts computer. When installed the truck would not start, Fortunately the original relay still worked and would alow the engine to start when reinstalled. On my third trip an experienced man at Advance suggested a Sorensen MR12 universal relay. It worked and is still working.
thanks for the info ill replace both there like 22 bucks canadian from the local ford dealer ill get new connecters at the scrap yard down the street just gotta 11 year olf fleet of f-150's
