Alignment Issue????

Hey all,
I'm working on the 76 f250 460. I tore down the front end. As I was looking at it, I noticed that the front tires seem to be leaning. The top of the tires are sticking out moreso than the bottom. I Mounted the tires evenly. I believe it is a "toe out" situation. Just wanted to double check with you guys, and ask if there is an easy fix for this that I can do at home. Thanks

Your suspension is partially unloaded right now. With the full weight of the truck on the front suspension it will come closer back to where it is supposed to be. You cannot align the front end in any way with it supported like you currently have it.

The tire angle you are experiencing is called camber, and the fix is to reinstall all of the weight back onto the front of your truck and then lower that weight back to the ground. Only then will you be able to determine if an alignment is necessary.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Even with it on the ground and all normal weight on it, it still sits a little off.

And probably will until you have all the front sheetmetal on it.........the weight of the sheet metal will mash the springs down further......No way I would even guess at the correct alignment until the truck is fully assembled.

There's no way to set that until you have all four tires on the ground, and complete, all of the weight on it.
Then you can see about adjusting that camber, caster, and toe.

Agree you need to have it fully dressed and on the ground for any meaningful conclusions. With that, the tops should lean in slightly (negative camber) though give or take 1/2 degree does not matter much on a PU.

Once completed suggest you take it to an alignment shop for check.
