Stack or 6 inch exhaust tip??

I've been debating on what I should get for my 04 F350 I'm tore between the black exhaust stack 6 or 8 inch and the 6 or 8 inch exhaust tip. Any help from y'all that have had them or have them still would be greatly appreciated!

You choose, but I will warn you that stacks typically end up here... the picture thread of ridiculous stacks!

I personally would go tip. I love modded rigs, but I don't like the look of too big of a tipped pipe. When I see stacks I hope they have something to catch anything some jackwaggon might want to toss inside. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I've seen some thoughtful vandalisms. Good luck in your decision, it's your new baby so whatever you decide is the right one for you

That makes me think now. That didn't even cross my mind. Thanks for that! I want the tip badly but the wife gave me a choice for V day so I was toying with the thought. But now I'm really leaning towards the tip. Thanks again Yama

Well, the price of just a tip versus stacks should be pretty different. Soooooo if you go with just the tip to see how it feels, maybe other mods could be added as well?!?

It seems it would eventually rust the pipe from the inside if the truck sat for any period of time without the exhaust heat evaporating the water.

But hey, if you go stack you could submit your own "glamour" photo of your stack to save one of the other members from taking a pic on the road with it!

I'd go with the tip and I agree with the others: there is a thing as Too Big...

All fun aside it is your truck, just make sure you use a 3.5 down pipe replacing the stock 3" then go with a stack or tip. I have the Magnaflow stainless, with muffler on my truck. Exhausts are age related...

Hmmmm, I must have matured a little over the past 7 years (wife would disagree, says I'm still 12.) I originally wanted a single stack on my 7.3 cab & chassis flat bed. Clay from Riff Raff talked me out of it and I'm glad. I think it's a fad that eventually loses it's appeal, but it's your truck and you get to decide when it gets old for you.

It does, why you see many a OTR truck used in farming with exhausts that rust out by the Y pipe if that is the set up used. They will sit for days and weeks on end at times, perfect spot for the moisture to sit and pit things.
