Hows it going everyone? So I am in the market for another truck and went to take a look at this one today. I havent had a Ford since my 97 F150 which treated me well until it was totaled. I definitely wanted the model wit the 5.0 as I have always liked that motor and a buddy has a 2011 and swears by it.
Since this would be a new purchase, I am looking for any advice you may possibly have on this model. Everything today during the inspection and test drive seemed to check out perfectly for me, but again I dont know if there are things I should watch out for or look for on these versions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It looks nice, but I think they want too much for it. I paid $33,500 for my brand-new '15 XLT truck. No way would I pay $1,500 less for a four-year-old truck.

I hear ya. Unfortunately that's the going rate around these neck of the woods for the FX4 with all options. I've looked at about 6 of them and they were all right in the ballpark with this one and most had less features than this particular one. Obviously I am going to talk with them and haggle as much as possible.
To me that price doesn't seem that bad, for the low miles, and loaded nice.
I paid almost 28K for my 2013 XLT super crew 4x4 5.0 with 53K on the odometer. I checked it out against bank value, and I got it for a decent price.

Between 25-28k is the going rate for the XLT around here as well so I didn't think it was too far off. I'll definitely negotiate in hopes of a better outcome so we shall see. Anything I should look for on these models? Any problematic areas? Everything I have read seems like they are pretty dependable and reliable trucks. I've looked at chevys and dodges as well and they don't even compare unless I was going diesel then I would be going a different route.
The 2011, and 2012 5.0 Coyote engines had a few issues, though I didn't have any problems with my 2011.
But had made some changes by 2013. So I'd say you really shouldn't have anything to worry about. I'm at almost 60K on my 2013 now, and zero issues.
It looks clean. The price is typical for this area although it does look to be a Canadian import. I would look for rust underneath and at the bottom edges of the doors. If it is indeed originally a Canadian market truck, go in knowing there is room to negotiate.

Thank you for the info. I had no idea it was Canadian. I'll be sure to look for things today when I head back.

This combination wasn't available stateside, and it is indeed from Canada. Which quite frankly, wouldn't bother me a bit.
I've attached the Ford Etis information, just for your reference.
cant speak to price ... I think everything is overpriced anymore, so even if it wasn't enough, it would still be too much.
Thank you so much for your help and the file. Definitely gives me a much better idea. I told my wife yesterday someone must have been from out of the states when they owned it because the Temp was set to Celsius. Haha. Makes sense now. Only thing I noticed was that the Navigation SD Card was missing. Might have to track one down in hopes of it not being over the top expensive.
I'd definitely haggle a bit, it is the American way of course. The truck looks clean in the pics, the miles are average for a four year old truck and there is still some factory warranty remaining.
I think the 2011-2012 trucks had the most issues with regards to the 5.0L and the 3.5L. Tom makes a strong point on price versus new and used.
How's it going everyone. So I am looking to pick up a 2013 FX4 and it does have the factory Navigation system in it. My question is about what model of SD Card would be best? The one that came with the truck is A4 however it's nowhere to be found so old owner must have kept it. I've seen A5 A6 A7 etc. are the higher the number the newer the version? Will only the A4 work in my truck? I'll need to get a new one either way. It figured I'd ask you all.

Myself, I'd have the dealer promise to get you one, in writing.

I have a 2013 FX4 5.0 and I suggest just buying a Garmin Nuvi for $89.00...it blows away the sucky Ford navigation system. My stock navigation often shows me off by about a street or two when in town, or just driving along side a road out in a pasture. The stock system locks you out from doing much, even from letting a passenger make any changes while you are driving. The Garmin allows you to make any changes you want anytime. Everything else works fine on my truck with 70K miles on it. The dash is starting to rattle but I bet that is due to living in cattle country with lots of dirt roads.

There's some truth there. I have a Garmin somethingornother, and it's better, and faster than any factory gps that I've seen.
