So I've had my truck for about 6 months or so. So I will be posting work I've done previously ( with as many pictures as possible) to this thread, then I will update work as I go. Enjoy guys!
Slip yolk on the drive shaft needed some love. New mirrors. Me and the truck . Girlfriend and her truck. Throw out bearing went kaboom lol. Wheel cylinder was lubricating the driveway.
Nice trucks! I would like to find one like your diesel.
thanks, I would probably be driving my old '93 i6 still if this wouldn't have been my buddys truck quite honestly. But I love it tho and am very glad that I did buy it.
Got some new headlights, and painted the bezels and grill on the girlfriends truck. New ujoints in the front and rear driveshaft center console delete kit lol
So now that I've got the front axle taken care of, and the engine is in good shape, all I have to do is replace my clutch then I can start working on upgrades and modifications. Suspension is definitely high on the list because of how bad it rides. Now I could take the easy route and use leaf springs and a shackle flip kit in the front, remove the helper spring in the rear, with some new shocks orrrrr....
Coilovers!!!! I work at a small 4x4 shop, and my boss has built many different suspensions for buggy's, race trucks, mud trucks. And his best friend down the road has a fab shop that we can use. But there is always the $1200 difference for coilovers in all 4 corners, or $500 diffence for leaf springs in the rear and coilovers in the front.
Nice truck. Coil overs would be great, but keep in mind it's not just the price difference in the shocks and springs, you'll need to fab a linked suspension front and back, tall coil towers, limit straps, and *lots* of time. If you did it properly, you'd have a lot of fun on dirt roads.

for sure. I would probably 3 link it with some good and strong DOM tubing and heims, the truck already has the front pan hard bar I have a place and people to help it's just the money really.
Could someone help me out with finding the part number for the 2 intake boots for my truck? Ford says the have the one that goes to the turbo for $61 but not the other boot. I have a cold air intake but I'm pretty sure the second boot is stock... the orange is the one that ford could find. The black is the one I'm not sure about.
Also my truck smokes quite a bit at a cold start. And smells like oil, I found the vent tube that goes into the intake pipe is where it is coming from. Is this normal to have this much oil coming out of that vent tube? The vent tube I'm referring tube is the short little 90 hose that comes out of the valve cover
There was a tiny puddle of oil on the lip of the turbo too...
It's normal for these to consume a certain amount of oil through the breather system, it's sort of a scrubby design.
Pull the oil fill cap while it's running and see how much blowby there is. Steady steam is normal, huge amounts of steam carrying oil mist is not (put your hand over and have someone Rev engine).

ive Checked it for blowby and it's not bad at all. I can barely feel it with my hand over it. But does that look normal? It just seems like there shouldn't be that much oil coming out of that vent tube. What is the purpose of that vent tube?
