It's normal to have oil soaked intake tract on 7.3s. The crankcase breather blows the blowby fumes into the intake, and there is inherently oil that comes with it. It's there to cut down on in cab breather fumes, 7.3s are stinky.
Burning oil on startup, however, is not normal. If your blowby is good, the problem could be injector o rings or simply worn out valve seals.

thanks for the info. I have a feeling it's my injector o rings personally, but idk much about valve seats honestly.
So after a very frustrating call with ford. I've decided I'm not gonna spend $100 on a stupid rubber boot, I'm gonna make a nice custom intake. A company that my boss uses for racing stuff (Vibrant Performance) makes some nice polished aluminum 4" pipe (18" long) and all the 4 ply silicone couplings T-bolt clamps. So for around the same price ford wants a replacement boot, I'm gonna have a nice polished aluminum intake. A friend will weld up the pipe after I mock it all up. It will hopefully be done tomorrow as long as the materials make it here tomorrow. I will probably make another "write up" on this so that other people don't have to be stuck with ford $100 intake condom.

They superceded the old orange boot to the super duty style black boot because the orange ones always get cut by the clamp to the turbo inlet (as yours did judging by the picture). The new setup comes with the new mount and provision for the breather tube like the 99/03 trucks have and is much better quality.
But your still looking at $60-$70. I saw the coupler but your still gonna have to wait a week or so for it.

That makes sense. For something that will just plug and play it's nice. But I wanna make my truck stand out and have unique things. I'll post some pictures tomorrow and y'all will understand what I mean
so here's what I'm gonna be using. $110 and I think it was well worth it. Now all that is left to do is cut it and weld the pieces together. I'm excited!
Alright so change of plans. I found a company that sells all kinds of racing parts for intercoolers and turbos and exhaust called Race Parts Solutions in GA. The sell more parts for half the price of Vibrant Performance. And have specialty stuff like a 3" - 4" 90. So instead of cutting and welding I'm going to order a 45, 3"-4" 90, and maybe 2ft of 4" pipe for about $60 bucks. Plus a 3" coupler which is about 8$. So I'm going to order that Monday and it'll be here Tuesday. Then I can start fabbing
